I spent two weeks with my dad. He took me to a place in Southern Utah, where his great-great Grandfather carved his name in a canyon wall just North of Torrey-the gateway to Capitol Reef, Bryce National Park and Zion.
Time stopped for just a moment as I thought about Chapman Taylor Duncan and his companion S.W. Morrell. The story goes that on horse back they stood to carve this and it has weathered 136 years-a link to the past- to those who lived before us.
