Wouldn't it be good

I think it would be a great idea if events included a photo with your entry fee. We just want that one photo to share with our running friends and anyone else who will pretend that this is the greatest running picture in the history of running.

And...wouldn't it be good if the event folks framed it? Maybe even took our photo after the run while we wear our medal? And how about an Olympic style podium to stand on? And the option to frame our medal next to our photo? Flowers anyone?

Just kidding, but this reminds me a story.

  1. Barring them giving you a photo it would be nice to at least be able to purchase them at a reasonable price. I take thousands of pictures a year and know that your standard 8 x 10 can be printed at a quality photo lab for around $6 and every event I have ever been at where the sell the photos they have charged at least three times that amount. I guess unless you have a buddy that knows how to take pictures you are stuck with the choice of getting extorted or passing on the scrap book memory for the grand kids years down the line.

  2. Congratulations on your time and place. Great job! It seems that the older I get, the tougher my age group becomes. What's up with that?

I received the e-mail to purchase photos from a race I ran a few weeks ago. They wanted $20 for a 5x7 so I printed the "proof" just to prove I ran it.

I think these are so overpriced, but people must be buying them, otherwise they wouldn't be out there taking the photos to sell.

I like your idea to offer a free area to take a photo after the race with a nice setting.

I also like the mouse theme of your story (lol)!
