Pineapple Classic 2010

Friday night it rained. I woke up at 2 and it was still raining. In the dark, I managed my way to the closet, felt through my wardrobe for the slick, cool feel of my rain jacket and packed it in my duffel. Went back to bed with visions of mud and monkey bars running through my head.

This is my first Pineapple Classic. The event has grown so large that the venue moved to North Bend. It has it's pros and cons. PROS: lots of parking, more participants, plenty of mud, the misty atmosphere with Mt Si as a backdrop...CONS: it's a working farm and the barn really stinks. Kind of takes away from the enjoyment of the luau. The race waves are scheduled through 1pm. It's an all day event for just 3 miles of running.

Overall, it's for a great cause. The obstacle course is fun. The costumes were great. A couple of guys came in their wetsuits. There were Ninja turtles and eskimoes. I was jealous of their warm coats.

  1. Sounds like it would be a blast, just ignore the smell... like the farmers say "it's the smell of money".

  2. Looks like a lot of fun. Great to do something completely different.
